this has me in such a happy/excited mood!
we are allowed to ship "two reasonably sized boxes" to denver ten days before we arrive. i got my two boxes today and i already had everything i will need so today i packed my two boxes! they are now sitting by my door ready to me shipped! i am SO excited!
i've also been looking around on the internet at things to do around denver and i have found some awesome stuff! for example- HOT AIR BALLOONING!!!!! state parks, amphitheater, museums and so much more! i'm SO ready to be in denver!
oh, and while in denver i can receive mail and packages so here's my address in case anyone wants to write!

more news from americorps!
today, i finally got another letter from americorps. the last time i got any news from the nccc was when i got my welcome packet. that seems like it's been ages. luckily, i've been talking to lots of people on facebook and none of them have gotten anything either.
unfortunately, my packet wasn't very big this time, just a few pages. it tells us about some possible living situations aka the possibility that we might have to camp.... it also says we need to register to vote (which i am), watch a video on the american red cross, and it gives information to those who are interested in firefighting. i don't know if yall have been watching news but there are wild fires in colorado. this being said, benton is not at all by any means interested in the firefighting. oh, and it said that so far, americorps has played a small part in the gulf oil spill cleanup. so, there's a possibility i might help with that.
the only other news i have is that this weekend mom and i went to the beach for the brown family reunion. while there, i got the last of everything i need for my trip! :) we went to naturally outdoors where i found some awesome blue jeans that are lined with green flannel! i also found some really warm running pants (since we will be required to work out five days of the week while training in denver for the first month), the warmest toboggan and scarf ever, and some great new tshirts! oh, i also met a couple at the reunion from up north and they said they love to go to denver. they gave me some tips- wear sunglasses to block the glare, wear sunscreen because you can and will get burned in the snow (so, i got 100 spf!), wears layers, and take hiking boots. luckily, i'm all set! the only thing i need now is a new camera! unfortunately, mine is broken :(
well, i don't really have any other updates to give. the family leaves next thursday for costa rica and then i'll be home for a week and a half before leaving for denver. i don't know if i'll get much more information from americorps. they seem to only give just the bare necessities are far as information in concerned! i'll update if i get anything else! exactly one month to go! :) i can't wait!!!!!!!!!

learning more about my future corps friends!
as i've mentioned, americorps nccc has a page for everyone who is in the denver group for this fall. so, this is how i've been meeting people and getting to know more about them. i haven't had much time lately to get on my computer during the week but i just got on today and saw that they had a new discussion going. i thought it was pretty awesome and really loved reading it. it's all about people who will be there. i know everyone is busy but in case yall have a little time and are bored and/or curious about the others who will be there check out the link. i laughed pretty hard at some of the stuff. but it seems that all of us have tons in common. i'm super excited and really can't wait to meet everyone!!!
